Press Freedom in the Middle East: An Alarming New Report

Across isolated villages in the Mopti region and Sikasso circle, access to fundamental medical care has become a daily humanitarian struggle. Local health outposts face recurrent stockouts of essential antibiotics, surgical dressings, and sterile childbirth equipment, while the nearest district hospital often sits over 50 kilometers away along impassable terrain.
To address these critical shortages, EFDI's mobile medical mission concluded a three-week emergency deployment across 15 remote villages.
Over 1,200 kilograms of pharmaceutical supplies and surgical equipment were handed over directly to village healthcare staff:
Alongside supply deliveries, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Aminata Traoré conducted intensive practical refreshers for 45 traditional birth attendants and community health workers:
"Delivering medicine is vital, but transferring life-saving triage protocols is what ensures lives continue to be saved long after our convoy departs."
EFDI extends its profound gratitude to all partners and donors who made this life-saving deployment possible for more than 8,000 rural residents.
